WAKAKIRRI AND OUR ACPS CONCERT "Dancing through Change"

*****Check out the compass note sent 14 July 2023 for all details  *****

It’s almost SHOWTIME! It has been fantastic to see students embracing a bit of sparkle and confidence as they complete their final rehearsals ready for our upcoming concert (incl Grade 5/6 Wakakirri performance for our school community). It will be a very special experience with so many choices made by the students.

Tuesday 25 July 2023

5pm: Fundraising Sausage sizzle and Bake sale for the school

6-7pm: Concert performance (student to arrive by 5:30pm)

Ticket cost: Free (but please come enjoy some fundraising goodies pre show!)

Bookings:  However if you have special seating requirements please email me at Sarah.Bailey2@education.vic.gov.au prior to the day.

Tip for parents of reluctant performers: I say to the students “If you are feeling nervous, worried or uncomfortable, they are normal feelings and it means you are about to do something brave and it’s important to practise being brave. We often find out we do like new things afterwards and feel proud about ourselves from the experience”.

COSTUMES

We will provide most costumes across the year levels but a simple base is requested from home:

PrepPlain black tshirt, black leggings/long pants/shorts
Grade 1Plain black tshirt, black leggings/long pants/shorts
Grade 2Plain black tshirt, black leggings/long pants/shorts
Grade 3+4Plain black or plain white tshirt, black leggings/long pants/shorts
Grade 5+6Plain black long sleeved top, black leggings/long pants/shorts

Students are asked to wear their ‘base’ under their school uniform to school for our final dress rehearsal (Monday 24 July) and bring a bag for storing their costume. No shoes will be required on stage and no make-up is required from home.

For any concert queries, please email me at Sarah.Bailey2@education.vic.gov.au

Wakakirri PERFORMANCE DAY     3 August 2023

Parent Information

WHAT TO BRING?

Students will need to wear their ‘base’ costume of long sleeved black top and black pants/leggings to school. Simple makeup of foundation is required from home for all students and lipstick is optional. Hair must be tied back. Some children may have sensitive skin or allergies therefore students will need to bring their own hair and makeup supplies from home for re application prior to the performance evening.

Students will need to bring recess, lunch, afternoon tea and a drink bottle in a small bag (storage space is limited at the venue). Please ensure that your child has a little extra in their lunchbox as this will be a busy day. They can also bring a quiet activity (card deck, colouring in etc) to keep them entertained in any downtime.

Please see compass note sent 14 July 2023 for a run down of the Performance day etc.

Thank you!
