Assistant Principal's report
Mrs Lauren Hopkins
I hope that you if you were lucky enough to have a break, that it was restful and rewarding. What did you do that filled your bucket, even a little? We love to get away in our caravan as a forced type of detox and these holidays saw us head to Canberra. If you ever have a chance to head to our Nation's Capital with your family I can't recommend it highly enough. We filled 6 jam-packed days with some fantastic activities and excursions and so many of them were completely free! The traditional land of the Ngunnawal people, Canberra is a fascinating study of topography, land use, politics, people and culture. Well worth the trip if you ever have a chance.
This term we have so many things to look forward to with Grade 3 soon heading away on camp, our annual Book Day (a favourite day of dress up and fun), Grade 5 and 6 Bennett Shield, Grade 1 and 2 Golden Oldies Afternoon, Hoop Time, celebrating the arrival of Spring in our cooking and gardening programs, House Athletics, and much much more. Term 3 is traditionally often a term of great academic and personal growth for many children and I can't wait to celebrate our achievements along the way.
I hope that you and your child/ren have had time to read, reflect upon and celebrate the achievements documented in their recent report. The addition of the Compass Continuum as a companion to reports has hopefully provided a consistent and comprehensive addition to your understanding of your child's progress and we look forward to it becoming an ongoing part of our teacher/parent/student partnership. I welcome your feedback if you would like to email me on lauren.hopkins@education.vic.gov.au
Thank you to Mrs Boulton and Ms Bailey who are co-ordinating Kalinda's MS Readathon efforts this year. Check out the 'Staff and Office' page for more details on how to register under our school.
Take care Kalinda, you are very important to me.
