PREP

What a successful final two weeks of Term 2 in Prep.

We have been very busy doing lots of learning and of course having fun.

Our VCOP day was a great success and the highlight was mixing all of the grades up and working in different classrooms. We had some amazing stories come out of it and we can't wait to continue on this imaginative writing journey.

In literacy, we have been continuing our colourful semantics writing, doing weekend recounts and our big writes. In week 8, Prep Gemma wrote all about a sunken shipwreck and Dani’s class wrote about a green alien.

This week, our sentence for LLLL is “Tim did a quiz. Zip! Zap! The pig is in the red top hat.” We have been learning all about our punctuation marks and how to use them in this sentence and why.

We have finished up our learning of subtraction and have been reviewing our essential learnings from the semester, just so we keep these skills in place.

Next term, we are going to jump straight into multiplication and division.

In week 8, in Social Explorers, we learnt about “eyes like arrows”. Which means looking with your eyes and thinking. Making smart guesses about the situation by thinking with your eyes.

Please note a 2:15pm finish tomorrow.

We wish you all a wonderful holidays and we can’t wait to see you all on the 10th of July for a jam packed term 3.

GRADE 1/2

We can't believe that we are at the end of Term 2 already! We are so proud of the progress made by all students and are so excited to see what we can achieve for the rest of the year!

We loved seeing the families of our students at our Learning Conversations during the week. It was great to share the student progress and goals for the term ahead.

Year 2 Kerryn/Emma have their Prayer Gathering on Friday morning. As always, we would love to see our families and friends there to support us.

Next term we will revisit narrative writing, we will begin to look at time and will start our inquiry unit 'Passport to the world.'

The last day of Term is this Friday. Students can dress in casual clothes and enjoy 'Fun Food' on this day.  It will be a 2:15pm finish on this day.

Have a wonderful holidays and we can't see you back, ready to learn in Term 3.

GRADE 3/4

A HUGE well done to our incredible 3’s and 4’s for completing a very big semester!

They have learnt so much, grown so much, and are probably all ready for a big break.

Thank you to all parents who attended our Learning Conversations this week.

It was lovely to see the enthusiasm with which the children showed you what they have worked on this semester. It was also wonderful to hear about the positive conversations happening at home about what we are doing in school.

What a great reminder of the value of parent-school partnership!

Reminder-

Casual clothes and FUN Food Day this Friday 23rd June, 2.15pm finish.

GRADE 5/6

This week has been a busy week finishing off all our units in preparation for holidays. We have completed our inquiry unit on Australian Migration, Multiplication and Division in Maths and Narratives in Writing. Whilst this has been happening, we have been investigating NAIDOC week with crafting activities, indigenous games and a special guest speaker, Caleb Clarke, who spoke about his involvement as an Eastern Maar man and his role as a firefighter.

Thank you to all the parents that attended Learning Conversations this week. It was great to see everyone and have our students show off some of the beautiful work they have done this semester.

As we make our way towards holidays it is a great time to reflect on all the achievements we have had in the senior school including; VCOP day, NAIDOC week, school sports day, interschool sports, prayer gatherings, Grade 5 camp and many more.

We wish everyone a safe and happy holidays and look forward to seeing all of our students refreshed and ready to tackle the second half of the year in Term 3.
