Thought for the week
“Music is the harmony of being; but the music of Soul affords the only strains that thrill the chords of feeling and awaken the heart’s harpstrings.”
Mary Baker Eddy, Miscellaneous Writings 106:28-30
Music Tour of Italy
On Monday 12 June, many parents and staff had the pleasure of listening to some of the musical repertoire the Music Tour group will take to Italy. The choral and orchestra performances were amazing. Congratulations to the students and staff for months of hard work in preparation. The groups have been rehearsing most Sundays since November last year and are ready to take the show on the road to Italy. The mission of Huntingtower is to be a beneficial presence in the world, to uplift thought and to bless mankind. The Music Tour group are certainly going to live out our mission and bring such joy and love, conveyed through music, to so many.
Grazie and Buon viaggio!
Solar Panels
Last year Huntingtower, with the support of the community, installed solar panels on the roof of the Pool and Performing Arts Centre. Going forward, we plan to install solar panels on any new buildings to expand the network with a goal to produce more energy than we use and become a virtual power plant for the Huntingtower community. Please have a look at the HT Solar Update in this HT Bulletin showing the positive impact we have had. Thank you to all donors for helping us make a difference.
New Garden/Activity Zone
Our talented Grounds Team have done a wonderful job with the new landscaped garden and activity zone in the area where the Cypress Trees were. It has quickly become a place of connection across all year levels, and I have been delighted to see students using the exercise equipment during and after school. Thank you to our generous P&F who contributed to the equipment for the students and also the families who donated plants and trees to beautify the area. While it was sad to see the historic Cypress Trees reach their end of life, we have been able to create a new space for connection and belonging in their place.
This Term has been filled with so many highlights that has given life to our belief that everyone has unlimited potential. We have excelled in Sport, Debating, Chess, Academics, Music, performance, social connection, adventure and so much more.
I truly value my connection with Huntingtower and our community and love coming to school each day to see what we can achieve together. I look forward to seeing the students back for Term 3 on Tuesday 18 July for another term of endless potential. Enjoy a safe and restful break and time with your friends and family.
