From the Principal
Dear Parents & Carers
As we reach the end of the term, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you. This term, and the past 4.5 years, has been a journey filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences that we have shared together as a close-knit community.
To our incredible students, I extend my sincerest thanks for your commitment to learning, supporting each other, and the joy you bring to our school. Your dedication to learning and your willingness to explore new ideas have been truly inspiring. As you enter a well-deserved break, remember to take pride in your achievements and continue nurturing your thirst for knowledge.
To the families, I am immensely grateful for your continuous support of the entire staff as we work in partnership with you and your children. I deeply value the conversations we have had over the years as well as the support and trust you have placed in me and the school. Your active involvement in your children’s learning journey has fostered a strong sense of community and provided a solid foundation for their success.
A special note of appreciation goes to our Parents and Friends. Your ongoing and generous support has made a significant impact on our school. From contributing funds towards the resurfacing of our half basketball court, which is a beloved play area for our students, to your assistance in providing technology, gardening equipment, and other materials for student engagement, your invaluable contributions have enriched our learning environment. The P&F does an immense amount of work to raise funds and on behalf of the entire school, I want to express my gratitude to each of you. I encourage everyone to explore ways, big or small, to get involved. Please contact the P&F at pandf@qopaltonameadows.catholic.edu.au for more information on how you can participate.
To our dedicated, passionate, and committed staff, I want to extend a profound thank you. Your remarkable efforts have been nothing short of incredible during my time here. Despite numerous changes and challenges, including years of lock down, you continued to learn and grow as educators to better support all of the students and families, as well as your colleagues. I have gained so much from all of you, and you have all made a lasting impression on me and my growth as a leader. I feel immensely proud and blessed to be a part of such a kind, caring and welcoming community here at Queen of Peace.
As we head into the holidays, I encourage everyone to take some time for rest and rejuvenation. Take quality time to connect with loved ones, engage in activities that bring you joy, and embrace new adventures. Let us return next term with renewed energy, ready to continue our pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.
Lastly, I will miss each and every one of you.
Staff Changes
As previously announced, we have several staffing changes heading into Term 3.
We eagerly await the arrival of Rod Sims as principal. His demeanour, experience and knowledge will be great assets in leading the Queen of Peace community in the coming years.
Andrea Moscato will also join us in August to work alongside Erin Jenkins in the Learning Diversity Role. Andrea is an experienced leader in the diversity space and will be a great addition to our community.
Lea Hogan is moving to St Teresa of Kolkata as Bursar and Office Administrator, assisting in starting the school which will open its doors in January 2024. We wish her well in this new chapter of her career.
Rose Gusman, after 20 years of service to the QoP community, will be leaving us in August. Her leadership and commitment to all staff and families has set the foundation and example for all to succeed. We wish her all the best in her future travels and adventures.
Warm regards
