INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT HEPS

This week at HEPS we have welcomed 10 internationals students from China and Japan. In the coming weeks we will be welcoming even more international students. Most of our international students are here at HEPS for between 4 – 8 weeks across all levels.

We hope that all our new families feel warmly welcomed to HEPS and that they enjoy all the experiences of school in Australia.

YOUR LIBRARY UPDATE

Conversation Circle at Bayswater Library

Over the holidays, I spend a lot of time visiting our local libraries. The local libraries across the Eastern Region are fabulous community hubs for all ages. I have mentioned the Conversation Circle events numerous times throughout this year, these events run at different times throughout the week and are a great way for families to meet new people and improve their daily English language skills.

Reading Buddies at Bayswater Library

Another fantastic free event which Bayswater Library are running this term is Reading Buddies. Reading Buddies is a brand new program supporting primary school parents and caregivers to help their children to learn to read. Most children come home from school with a reader they are supposed to complete each night, however many adults don’t have the confidence to help their children learn to read, therefore Reading Buddies at the Bayswater Library was developed. A small snack will also be provided for the children attending. There is no need to book for the event each week however to ensure you get the most out of the program there is a limit of 2 children per adult. You are welcome bring your school reader to the session during the school term.
