9 Advance

Last week the year 9 Advance students completed their first aid qualification. During the course, students completed both a theory and practical component of first aid. Some of the activities the students engaged included:

CPR on training manikins.
Using bandages and slings to help with broken bones, strains and bites.
Asthma training and the use of a ventilators and preventors.
Anaphylaxis training and the use of an EpiPen.

At the end of the course the students completed a theory test which enabled them to be fully qualified in administering first aid. Overall, the day was a success and the students were very engaged and well behaved.
