Learning in Prepland

Our amazing Preps have shown great resilience while returning to Remote Learning.  We have been keeping connected through our daily WebEx sessions, which have provided us with many laughs and smiles while students have shared their work and of course completed fun learning activities together.

We have been able to continue our Little Learners Love Literacy program, learning the graphemes ‘ck’ ‘sh’ and ‘ch’ through the Little Learners books and activities which Miss Bakker has been working hard to make WebEx friendly.  We have also been practising reading new words with these sounds and finding the sounds in words.  Our onsite students even made a ‘baby chicks hatching’ craft to celebrate the ‘ch’ sound.

We have continued working on information reports and learnt so much about farm animals.  We have created many labelled diagrams, labelled life cycles, and found facts about animal diets, habitats and appearance.

For Mathematics, Preps are learning strategies to help them solve subtraction sums in the form of number sentences and worded problems. The strategies we have been learning to use are: draw it, making and modelling and number lines.

As always, our Preps have been awesome taking on the challenges of Remote Learning with great enthusiasm and a big smile.  The Prep Team, are so proud of our amazing Preppies and can’t wait to be back in the classrooms with you soon!
