Lit Week 2021 next week

Lit Week 2021 is next week (23-27 August) at St. Joseph’s! Lit Week is like the CBCA Book Week, but for young adults. Our College holds a range of events during the week to encourage our students to read and write, and to support a reading and writing culture in our school. Students can go online to SIMON Daily Messages from Saturday for details about competitions, events and prizes.

This year Mr Wallis' and Ms Keenan's Yr 8 3D Art created fantastic concept designs for the Lit Week 2021 logo and tshirt.  The winning design (pictured right), as voted on by staff and students, was by Sophiea Nikkelson. Congratulations Sophiea! Also congratulations to Thomas Wippel, whose design came second.

Lit Week 2021 tshirts are being printed now and will be available to buy ($10) from the Library. Email library@sje.vic.edu.au to order.

VPRC Reading targets met!

We set out to have 50 students registered, and 500 books read, for this year’s Victoria Premiers’ Reading Challenge.  PRC Coordinator, Ms Celine Bush, is  so proud to say the goals have been surpassed. Well done everyone involved!!  Congratulations to Kaycee Bain Yr 7 and Darcy Cullen Yr 7 who are the most recent students to conquer the Victorian Premiers’ Challenge.  Eleven students have met their reading goal so far.  All Yrs 7-10 students can take part in the Challenge.  It’s not too late to email Mrs Bush cbush@sje.vic.edu.au to register.
