Muhammad Zabhi

Biggie Smalls

2021

Blender, graphite pencils, fineliner, pastels, coloured pencils and white fineliner. Reference photo; “I’ve got a story to tell” Netflix documentary cover image.

Muhammad of Acacia year 9 voluntarily entered his drawing 'Biggie Smalls' into the running for Artist of the Week and has been chosen as this week's winner! Muhammad has provided the following explanation of the process he followed to create his artwork;

"First I outlined the whole thing with a blender, so it’s lines and face shape are a bit visible to trace over and it’ll fade away in a few days either way. The next thing I did was just draw/sketch the artwork (left side) like usual. Once I was done with that, I wanted to try out something different which was colouring the right side. It took about 3 weeks to complete. Then I used pastels to darken the background of the right side. On the bottom I decided to add some small detail with fineliners, which was to cover up the empty spot. In the end I tried to use the white fineliner to add small detail for it to shine more."

IMPRESSIVE WORK MUHAMMAD!

Wanda Nguyen

Lacerta the SandWing/RainWing Hybrid Dragon

2021

iPad app called IbisPaint

Wanda of Banksia year 7 voluntarily entered 'Lacerta' into the running for Artist of the Week and has been chosen as this week's winner! Wanda has provided the following explanation of the process she followed to create her digital artwork;

"First, for my first sketch, I used a red pencil to sketch on my iPad, and after that, I traced the outlines with a soft pen. After doing that, I used a bucket to colour in my drawing and then put shadings to make it look slightly 3D, using an airbrush. I used a magic wand to select the area I wanted to shade in. Finally, I used a magic wand again to select the background to colour in".

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK WANDA!
