Indigenous Cultural Inclusion 

For the entire day, students are given the opportunity to be immersed in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and traditions. They are engaging in a range of creative activities from imaginative play to dance, visual art and storytelling. They are reflecting on the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and how to best utilise these in their own thinking and development. 

 

Foundation are learning about the importance of storytelling.

The 1s and 2s are exploring the connection to place and animals.

The 3s and 4s are exploring the significance of country, place and traditions. 

The 5s and 6s are identifying significant events. 

Foundation students reflect on the lessons of The Butterfly, passed on by Nai Nai Bird. 

Grade 1 acknowledge their favourite place in the school is on Aboriginal Land!
