Regional Cross Country Championships

On Tuesday June 18th, Charlie Mearns (Year 6) represented WHPS in the Regional Cross Country Championships.

It was a very cold and wet day for all students running at the Yarra Glen Racecourse. Charlie competed in the 11 year old race and proudly ran a personal best, despite the wintery conditions. His time was just over 11 minutes for the 3km course and he finished in the top half of the group, coming 40th from students all over this region of Melbourne.

Well done Charlie, that was an amazing achievement and we are all very proud of you. It is always wonderful to see students from WHPS representing our school at such high levels in sport. Thanks also to Mum (Sarah) for her ongoing support and training with Charlie, and for transporting him to Yarra Glen and back on the day.
