Principal's Report

26th June 2019

Welcome Back to Term 3

Term 3 has started off very well here at school with all of our students back into routine and engaged in their learning programs. Term 3 promises to be another busy and productive term with many events and activities planned such as the art show, parent / teacher interviews, book week and parade, WESA Athletic Sports and Prep transition starting later in the term.

Parent Opinion Survey

Earlier in the week the school sent out an invitation to a randomly selected group of families to complete the Parent Opinion Survey.

If you received this invitation, we request that you complete the survey  as soon as possible to assist the school in gaining an understanding of parents' perceptions of the school climate, student behaviour and student engagement.  Wheelers Hill Primary School will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.  All responses are anonymous.

Thank you for your time in completing the survey.

From the Department of Education :

The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training (DET). Each year the survey randomly selects families from the school community to provide information to both the school and DET.  It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents' perceptions of the school climate, student behaviour and student engagement.  Wheelers Hill Primary will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Back to School Reminders

Just a couple of reminders for all families now that everyone is back at school.

Parking - Just a reminder to obey all parking signs around the school (such as permit zones and time limits), be considerate of other drivers, be aware of children and families and drive at the speed limit of 40km per hour.

School Times - Please don't drop your children off before 8:45am as there is no supervision in the yard at this time. Supervision in the yard after school also stops at 3:45pm so please pick up your children before this time. If you are going to be late please contact the office and they will let your child know.

Art Show - Save the Date

Just another reminder the Art Show is coming up on Thursday the 12th September. The Art Show will have two sessions, one after school from 3:45-4:45pm and in the evening from 6:00-7:45pm. As this event of one of our major fundraising events for the year I would like to encourage all families of the school to come along. More details will be available closer to the date.

Updated School Signage

You may have noticed some new signs around the school promoting our school values and identifying where offices and other important areas of the school such as OSHC, school hall, performing arts and the art room are. Expect a few more changes over the next couple of weeks as more signs are added.
