Magis

Congratulations to all students who have participated in the Magis Gifted and Talented Program in 2019, and to the Years 7 and 8 students who completed the Magis option.  There have been many successes throughout the year,  but overall key areas of development have included the significant  growth in the number of teams in WA Gifted and Talented competitions,  the wonderful increase in staff support and participation with 33 staff assisting with Magis events and competitions in 2019, and the vital development of the leadership and service elements of the program. Please follow the links below to the Magis 2019 Chronicle and the Magis video for detailed coverage of this year’s program.

2020 will be an exciting year for Magis including major developments such as awarding of House points for some of the major Magis competitions,  an enhanced program adding several major Australian gifted and talented competitions we have not done before to the Magis Challenge program,  and a significant development in the role of the Magis Student Committee. The 2020 committee is almost finalised and it has been extremely pleasing to see an  outstanding response from those invited to fill this role next year. The new committee  led by Ben Linsten will be announced at the beginning of next year, along with several other significant amendments which will be highlighted in the 2020 Magis Handbook.

Warmest thanks to the 125 gifted students involved in Magis this year, and to the staff and parents whose support has also been so critical to the success of the program.
