Year 12 Coordinator - Laura Brancatella

 VASS Coordinator - Monique Leftley

The Senior School Team, along with the class teachers, is really looking forward to working with students this year. Our goal is about giving students at Glen Eira College the best chance of achieving successful outcomes from their Senior School years. In doing this we aim to continue to set high expectations that we are confident our students can reach.

Being new to the College, I have enjoyed getting to know our students and will continue to throughout the term. On the whole, the students seem to have settled in to the start of the year quite well.

Now is the time for students to get organised and stay organised. Students are reminded to manage their time accordingly and prepare fully for upcoming SACs /assignments. It is very important to us that parents and guardians have a good working relationship with staff. Working together we can ensure the successful progress of each student.

Year 10 Work Experience

Last year we reviewed our Work Experience Program.  As a result we have changed the timing of Work Experience Program to coincide with the Year 10 Camp.

Work Experience: Week 10, term 3 Monday 16th September – Friday 20th September 2019.

Year 10 camp: Week 10, term 3 Tuesday 17th September – Thursday 19th September 2019.

As the College grows it gets more and more difficult to find work experience placements for all students. We have had large numbers of students over the past few years rely on the school to find them a work experience placement and many of these students have been reluctant to participate in the program at all. Our aim when running the two programs in the same week was to give the students the option of not participating in work experience if they are attending camp.

Students who wish to be involved in both programs can participate in work experience during the term holidays. Glen Eira College will continue to support these students with their work experience in the same way we support all students doing work experience.

If you would like more information please don’t hesitate to contact me or Ms McCaskie, Student Pathways and Work Experience Coordinator.
