Around The Primary

Dear Parents

Special thanks to Miss Graves and Year 6G for preparing this week's informative and entertaining assembly item.

Our Primary Open Night is on Monday, 23 September from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  All classrooms will be available for parents to visit and to celebrate with your children their learning journey.  Feel free to browse every room not just your own child’s classroom because there are wonderful work samples to see in every space of the school.  Please extend the welcome to your wider family, it would be great to see grandparents too.

From 5:00 pm onwards, you might like to make your way to the Library Courtyard or Library to experience some of the musical talents from our students.

STEM

Last Wednesday the Year Two students travelled to Scitech for an exciting day of fun and learning! The students explored the ‘Rescue Exhibition’ and learnt about different gadgets and strategies used to help rescue people in dangerous situations.  They then moved to the CSIRO lab where they got to play with ‘Ozobots’ - tiny robots that are colour coded. The students created their own colour codes for the robots and even created a space story adventure for their robot.

After the lunch break the students moved to the Planetarium where they learnt about the planets, constellations and watched a film called ‘Tilt’. The last activity of the day was some free time in the general exhibition to explore and play lots of fun and interactive science games.
