Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community

(I am sorry for the late publication of this week's newsletter)

I would like to wish all our families a special time over this Easter break. I hope that you are able to spend some quality time as a family and if time and money permit, you can enjoy a relaxing holiday in a Covid safe part of the country. As a Catholic School, the season of Easter allows us to reflect upon Jesus love for us and through his death and resurrection a faith to grow and practice.

Please stay safe on the roads and we look forward to seeing you all in Term Two.

(Congratulations to the winners of our Easter Raffle announced yesterday in the Church, Nikita, Jacob, Arvin and Veer and to Roery for correctly guessing the number of eggs in the jar. Thank you to Jodi and her Parents and Friends helpers for organising both the raffle and hot cross buns orders. Both activities brought in nearly $400 for our school).

Farewell for Jenny

On Wednesday both current and some former members of the Sacred Heart Staff came together to celebrate Jenny's great contribution to our school and to wish her every success as she moves into her new role at St Catherine of Siena Primary School. Amongst the former staff were our two previous Sacred Heart Primary School Principals, Pam Hallett and Mary O'Donohue.

Coffee Van Thank You

It was great to see so many parents take the opportunity last Friday to get a coffee or hot chocolate courtesy of our Parents and Friends Association. The free drink was to say thank you to our great parents and guardians for their support in 2021. We are looking at having the coffee van visit our school one morning each week as of term two for parents who would like to purchase a coffee and have a chat with other parents.

Special Assembly

Last Friday's whole school assembly was our first in over twelve months. During the assembly our School Captains and Leaders were presented with their leadership badges. Our Year Six students were presented with their graduation tops by their Year Prep buddies, who were in turn presented with a friendship bracelet made by their Year Six buddy. Finally as a school, we had the opportunity to thank Father Jan for his support of our school community these past four years, and to wish him every fulfillment in his next appointment.
