Mrs Holland, Leader of Pedagogy/Assistant Principal

St Joseph's Primary School - a Faith Filled Community Where Learning Matters

A warm welcome back to Term 2 to all our students and families.  I hope you all had a great school holiday break and are ready for another exciting term.

Staff begin the term with the second of four scheduled twilight professional development meetings. Tomorrow afternoon, Mr Jason Hanrahan (CSO School Performance Leader), will lead staff through the Living Well, Learning Well Framework.  This framework provides a guide for us as we work to increase learning, wellbeing and life-opportunity outcomes for the children in our care.

As explained in a newletter last term, the framework presents three 'Rules for Living and Learning' which define the behaviour expectations we all strive to have for ourselves and others.  These are:

  1. I am safe(I am kept safe and keep others safe)
  2. I am valued, respected and cared for(and I value, respect and care for others)
  3. I am a learner(and I support my learning, the learning of others and the work of my teacher and other adults)

In addition to the three Rules for Living and Learning, staff will also look at:

  • Student support of all domains (learning, well-being and behaviour)
  • The impact of student connection and participation on student achievement and wellbeing
  • Setting up structures to support all students to maximise their life opportunities
