Year 3 Excursion - Mt Nelson Signal Station | Wednesday 31 March

Year 3’s next Unit of Inquiry is ‘How we organise ourselves’ focusing on communication technology and taking responsibility. On Wednesday 31 March we will be undertaking an excursion to Mt Nelson Signal Station to give students an opportunity to cast their minds back and imagine a time where they did not have the technology as we do today and look at some unique forms of communication. We will also look at the responsibilities of communicating in these ways and reflect upon how that might be different from what we experience now. Students will be leaving the school at 9.15am on Wednesday morning and returning before 11.00am in time for lunch. The students will require a jacket and a warm hat for the trip as it may be cold upon arrival.

Kindergarten - Stewards of the Earth - Taroona Beach Visits | Tuesday 23 and 30 March

We are visiting Taroona Beach on two occasions Tuesday 23 March and Tuesday 30 March. These beach days are supporting the children’s connection to country, the natural world and the enjoyment of being outdoors. We will not be swimming but exploring the shoreline and bush surrounds.

We will be travelling to and from the Kindergarten using our school buses. We will leave at 9.30am and return at 11.30am. Children will take their bags so they can have a snack when we arrive at the beach before we go exploring. Please ensure you provide a rubbish free lunchbox for your child so that no rubbish goes into the ocean. This is an action we can all take to ensure we are Stewards of the Earth. Catch up with all the news about our beach days on ebook called Our Community Book. Children will need to wear their sports uniform and shoes that they can take on and off by themselves.
