COMPASS

Compass is our main form of communication with families across the school, including such things as newsletters, excursions, reports and emergency management. It also allows for families to update absences (a Department of Education requirement) and communicate with your child’s teacher. It is essential that all families have access to this important program either via the app on a phone (Apple or android), iPad or Computer. If you are having any issues using the program or cannot access due to a forgotten password, please come and see us at the office and we can assist you.

Visitors To The School

All visitors to the school must first report to the school office to sign in via our QR code. This is a school policy and is for the safety of all students, staff and visitors to the school.

It is now a requirement that all visitors to the school, including parent volunteers, carry their current Working with Children Check card with them at all times.  On signing in at the office, you will be required to present your card for verification.

Medications

It is essential that you advise the school if your child is required to take medication for on-going issues or one-off illnesses.

All medication is held in the office (not in student bags), with the exception of asthma puffers, which can be kept in the classroom.

Before any medication can be administered to children we must have a signed permission form (which you can complete at the office) and the medication must be named and in its original packaging. Any questions regarding medication for students can be directed to Raelene or Tina in the office.

Department of Education and Training Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) Applications

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in 2021.

If you would like to apply for the first time or have any further questions, please speak to the office.

Family Statements

Family statements will be emailed out to families next Monday showing all outstanding items for 2021. If you are having financial difficulties making these payments, or have any queries regarding your statement, please don’t hesitate to contact Sue Hartley (Principal) or Tina Clark (Business Manager).

Lost Property

There are many items currently in Lost Property at the moment. We ask parents to please check the Lost Property hooks/shelves outside Room 5 (opposite the Staff Room) to claim anything that belongs to their child.

Any un-named uniform items that have not been collected by Friday 26th March will be laundered and given to the second-hand uniform shop. Any un-named containers and drink bottles not collected by this time will be thrown out.
