From Our School Leaders

It is hard to fathom just how quickly this term is flying by. It is also interesting to look back to this time last year – this was one of our last normal weeks.

Over the last few weeks, the Leadership and DSSI team has been involved in learning walks in our classrooms. When we walk around our learning spaces, we feel so proud of what our teachers are doing. Our spaces are vibrant, learning environments where students are encouraged to try their best.

Parenting in the Digital World – Thursday 25 March

Just a quick reminder that our parent information session – Parenting in the Digital World - is to be held on Thursday 25th March at 7.00pm in the school Hall.

Working Bee - Sunday 21st March

Our first Working Bee for the year will be this Sunday 21st March from 10.00am -12.00pm. We are looking at painting our front stairs and school benches, cleaning the paving and canteen area, planting new plants, pulling out old ones and a general tidy up.  We would love it if you could come and spend some time with us making our school look its best.

The times of Working Bees for the year will be varied because Sunday does not work for everyone. If you can see a project or regular maintenance task that you could do and our Working Bee times do not suit you, please let the office or myself know.

Race Track Competition

Our School Captains and HEART Captains are running a school-wide competition this term to design a Hot Wheels track for our students to use at recess and lunchtime.

Students can work individually, in pairs, in groups or with their family to design the track.

Paper with the appropriate dimensions of the track can be found outside Mrs Rheumer’s office.

Students will get the opportunity to vote for their favourite track that will be built in Term 2.

The design competition will finish on Friday 26th March with the winner being announced at our final Term 1 assembly. The track will be built in the garden bed with seating around it, near the chicken coop. See if the photos below can give you some ideas.
