Principal's News

End of Term

Term 1 is coming to an end and the Easter break is in front of us. In recent weeks we have had some illness amongst staff and children. Members of our community getting the flu is another sign of getting back to normal.

Our Twilight Sports were our first school event with parents attending since 2019. We look forward to having more opportunities to have our community come to school for events and celebrations.

I would like to thank our school staff for all their continued efforts and flexibility this term. Everyone was very excited to get back to a normal routine and we are happy to say that we nearly had a full term of face-to face learning. Luckily the shutdown lasted only a few days and the staff were prepared for this with learning activities ready to go home at a moment's notice. Term 1 finishes on Thursday April 1 at 3.30pm.

Absence from school

A lot of our Holy Family children have had more time at home than normal during term 1. We still need to be careful when anyone, whether staff or child, has flu-like symptoms. In saying that we do not want children being away from school unnecessarily. Home learning has now ended. The children, if well enough, must be at school continuing their learning. If your child is absent from school, please ring the office before 9am. Please do not contact teachers via Seesaw.

Senior Camp

In week 1 of term 2 we have the grade 4, 5 and 6 camp at Burnside Camp Anglesea. During week 10, I will be meeting with children to discuss camp, answer any questions and to make sure that everyone understands what they need to bring.

In addition to the requirement list sent earlier, the children need their own pillow, pillow case, sleeping bag or sheets. The camp will supply a bunk and mattress but nothing else. This is to ensure all Covid safe measures are in place.

Term 2 Open Days and Enrolments

In week 2 of term 2 on Wednesday 28th April and Thursday 29th April we are having Open Days. Please let friends and family who have school aged children know that we are open for enrolments for 2022. Current parents are welcome to come in and see what is happening at school also.

Our enrolments normally come later in the year and we would like to change that and get our enrolments in by the middle of the year. The open days are part of trying to achieve this.

Easter Raffle

Congratulations to the winners of our Easter raffle. All 3 of the prizes have plenty of Easter goodies to keep the winning families supplied with Easter eggs for the holidays.

I hope everyone has a good break over Easter and comes back for term 2 healthy and ready for a term of great learning.

Easter Prayer for Children

Dear God,

Thank you for giving us such good gifts.

For our families who love us.

For yummy food and tasty drink.

For so many different beautiful animals.

For parks with tall trees and soft grass.

For birds that fly among the clouds.

For seas and streams that are fun to paddle in.

And thank you for your son Jesus.

We like to read about him in the Bible.

He taught his disciples about you.

He healed people who were sick.

He walked on water,

And even died and came back to life.

Help us to remember all the things he did And celebrate him on this special day.

Amen.
