Cultural Diversity Week

Victoria celebrates Cultural Diversity Week from March 22-26th, and we had a fun filled week here at Staughton College as well.

Youth Hub Coach Djibril Diallo and Community Engagement Officer Deng Tebir hosted the Soccer House Cup. In true Melbourne form, we got rained on!  We are going to complete our Finals this week, and the winning team gets to verse the teachers.

DJ William Cachia and his lunch time radio crew hosted World Music.  Thank you to Lerraine Linning, Cy Haymes, Gemma Reid and Mykaila Tobin for playing our tunes on Tuesday and Thursday.

Eleni Tulaga and her sisters Sia and Stacey challenged us to a Samoan Sasa on our Facebook page on Wednesday.

We culminated the week with our annual Cultural Fashion Parade and Traditional Perfomances in courtyard 2 at lunch time.  Ornella Niyonzima and Adoralynn Papalii Seu emceed the event.

The students went wild to see their classmates representing their cultures, and loud cheers were also heard for their teachers.
