Classroom Connections,

Through a range of Literacy tasks, students of 34A have enjoyed developing their sense of belonging and identifying their values-in-common. This has been buoyed by their developing proficiencies in grammar through ‘show and tell’ and through open tasks and image prompts.  Using a range of Literacy skills including, speaking and listening, reading and writing, students continue to deepen their connection to one another and their environment.  One such example, can be seen in Adam’s story, where he uses an excellent array of adjectives to describe the view from his chosen ‘window’,  as seen in the book Window, by Jeannie Baker. It’s been an exciting literacy journey so far, with some outstanding student feedback too.

Well done 34A!

Nature

By Adam E

It was a warm spring day. The flowers were blooming and the birds were chirping happily. The wind was soft and gentle and the sky was blue.

I was carrying my brother and making sure he was deep asleep. I looked out my rusty window and saw the wonder of nature.

My old tree’s enormous vine was reaching all the way to the silky ground below.

Nature was beautiful. The lake was giving clear water to the large trees. All the pretty trees were surrounding my small house.

The mountains were tall and smooth. The blue bird was calmy sleeping on a bush and some other birds were flapping their great wings though the crystal sky. Some lorikeets were flapping excitedly around the great tree.

My old shed looked beautiful with all the flowers blooming on it.
