Phys. Ed News

As a school we are participating in Jump Rope for Heart. In each phys ed class students are encouraged to jump for ten minutes and log their minutes. The Heart Foundation’s ready-made skipping program helps primary school students move more and have fun, while they raise funds for heart research, patient support and programs that help save lives. If you would like to participate please register with the following link:

In Prep to Year 2 we have the great opportunity to have a free Calisthenics program running with a few of the professional and enthusiastic teachers from Knox Waverley Calisthenics Club for two weeks.

Calisthenics is a uniquely Australian artistic sport with performing at its heart. It offers a unique combination of gymnastics, marching, singing, simplified ballet, folk & modern dance. Calisthenics combines the best aspects of sport and art and helps to develop confident leaders through friendship and teamwork in a fun and friendly environment.

This is the final week for cross country training. Due to a great response from both students, parents and teachers we would like to continue with a Run Club setup. Students can choose to run laps of the oval either or both Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Each time they complete a full lap they will receive a mark on their hand showing how many laps have been completed after each session. This will be open to the whole school.

A massive congratulations to Darcy McNamara who competed for St Simon the Apostle in the Vic Tennis Trials on Tuesday. A fantastic effort to have made the team and be the only student to represent our school.
