Year 10 Italian Excursion
Year 10 Italian Excursion
On Tuesday 26 September 2017, the Year 10 Italian class was fortunate enough to attend a special screening of Troppo Napoletano at the Palace Nova Cinema; a film which is part of this year’s Italian Film Festival. Other schools in attendance included St Michael’s College, Rostrevor College and OLSH. Viewing this latest release gave the students an excellent opportunity to better understand the culture, practices and beliefs of present day Italians, with a particular focus on Neapolitan culture.
Once the film ended, the class then proceeded to Brunelli’s Cafe on Rundle Street. At the cafe the boys were given the opportunity to sample different Italian foods and products. They were also required to place their orders in Italian in order to further develop their language skills.
Many thanks to Jade Ward, of the Palace Nova, for organising a special screening of the Italian movie during school hours. Thank you, too, to the staff of Brunelli’s for the wonderful service they provided.
Finally, I would like to make special mention of the boys in attendance. Their positive participation in this activity, co-operation, polite and courteous manner and attention to the public’s needs, particularly on the public bus and in the cafe, is to be commended.
