Our Annual Music Concert was a gala evening!

From the Primary School

Our Annual Music Concert, incorporating boys from Year 2 through to Year 12, was conducted recently and what a gala evening it was!  Our choirs, bands and ensembles showcased their (and their music teachers’) talents to provide the audience with an exceptional night. Ms Lucy Pope and her team did a wonderful job.

During the Pupil Free Day the staff had their Retreat Day with the focus on the Pillar of Service. Staff visited CentraCare, Hutt Street Centre and Catherine House to get a feel for those in our own Adelaide community doing it tough. It does make you appreciate what we have and that for which we should be grateful.

Our Year 4s had their Zoo Snooze last Monday and had a great time. Thanks to Mrs Jo West, Mr Trent Allwood and Ms Kendall Schenk (who filled in at the last minute) for giving up their personal time for the boys. There are photos elsewhere in this newsletter.

Congratulations and thanks Mr John Niedzwiecki for organising our Fathers’ Day Liturgy on Monday of last week. It was very well attended and extremely well received by the dads, families and boys.

Most Co-Curricular has ended for the term(s) so I would like to thank all the staff who so enthusiastically coached, managed or help look after teams. Special thanks to Mr Nick Cheary.

Quite a few of our boys competed in the Australian Mathematics Competition this year with some outstanding results. Thanks to Mr Winter, Miss Frost and the Primary Teachers for their work in this field. The top results in the Primary School were:

High Distinctions

Andrew Bui, Max Roque, Minh Lam and Hugh Caton (who won the Best in School Award – in the top 100 percentile)

Distinctions

Mark Tsavdaridis, Panteli Vasilopoulos, Anay Vishal, Andrew Nghiem, Joey Anemouri,

MInh-Chuong Tran, Antony Barresi, Josh Holland, Luca Emmerson, Kevin Le

Another 14 boys received Credits and 13 Proficient Certificates.

Thank you to all the parents and boys who took the time to have their learning conversations recently. The take-up rate for this was extremely high and the feedback very positive.

Mr Frank Ali
