Library News
Spring has sprung in the Senior Library with a colourful display to promote some books…some new, some old…for reading. It is good to remember that there are so many great books out there that may not be the most recent, and to quote C. S. Lewis, “It is a good rule after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one till you have read an old one in between.” I certainly agree with that sentiment.
We also have a display of books to help the Year 9 students who are working on a task for the Simpson Prize, which is a national competition open to Year 9 and 10 students that explores the Anzac experience and its meaning for Australia.
In the Primary library, library lessons continue with visits from each class and the ELC classes. The focus has been on reading through the short-listed books nominated for the CBCA awards, and the ELC classes have also been entertained by the delightful ‘Duck! Rabbit!’
Mrs Haskey has finished the data entry for this year’s Premiers Reading Challenge, and all will be revealed next term when the results, certificates and medals come through. Well done to everyone who completed the challenge this year, and I hope you continue to participate in this excellent scheme which helps to foster and promote a love of reading.
