Cash handling policy

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you know the current methods of payment at Plenty Parklands Primary School are Cash, EFTPOS, Credit Card and the Qkr app.

For financial and internal audit control purposes the PPPS Cash Handling Policy was amended and approved by School Council.

Please note the amendment to the policy as per below;

There will be no over the counter payments (Cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card) at the school office or to be sent with the student on the last day of each term. The only method of payment accepted on the last day of each term will be via Qkr.

This is to ensure that staff can process and reconcile any payments before the end of each term and that here are no, or minimal funds, held in the safe over the term break.

This means there will be no over the counter payments accepted on Friday 20th December.

If any student comes to school on this day with an envelope and payment for an event/excursion it will be returned to them to take home. The parent will then be contacted to let them know it is being returned.

Thank you for your cooperation as this will ensure our school’s compliance with financial policy.

Sustainability Tips - Reduce Waste

Recycle old containers, bottles and just about anything else to turn into garden art! You and your child could paint an old container and turn it into a flower pot. Use old clothes to make a scarecrow. Smash a chipped plate and glue it onto tile to create mosaic art. The possibilities are endless!

Plenty Parklands Five Cent Challenge

As of Monday 9th December we have raised $375.

Thank you for your support.

The sustainability team, along with the Green Cadets made up of dedicated Year 4-6 student leaders, have relaunched our Nude Food Days with our Wipe out Waste Wednesday campaign!

Nude food, is by definition, food without packaging. You might be wondering, why nude food? Well, we have nude food because we are caring for the environment and the animals and creating a greener future for ourselves by reducing our waste.

Did you know that every minute one garbage truck worth of litter ends up in our oceans where it is choking our marine life, polluting our waterways and endangering our futures? Think about how much litter that equals in just one day! How can we help? We can help by reducing the amount of single use packaging we use.

So remember Wipe out Waste Wednesdays and provide your child with a nude food snack and lunch to help us reduce our waste.

Thank you from the Sustainability Team

Year 6 Presentation

This semester in Year 6, we have been putting a lot of hard work and effort into practising and organising all sorts of things for our Presentation. At the start of term 4, we began a program called Footsteps which taught us our dances and line changes for the night. Michelle was a great mentor and helped us to learn both dances, even though most people were not comfortable dancing. Our JSCs have been practising their speeches and are ready to wow our audience on the night. All the Year 6s are feeling prepared, confident and ready to end their final primary school year at Plenty Parklands Primary School. The night is fast approaching and we are all feeling mixed emotions about this exciting and emotional experience. We are looking forward to moving onto secondary school next year, but we will all miss each other, our teachers and our school. Thank you Plenty Parklands for preparing us for the next chapter in our lives.
