Principal's Message

Special thanks to the PPPS Choir for the wonderful job they did in visiting and performing at Blossom Park Kinder. I heard that they performed fabulously and were great ambassadors for our school. Thank you to Ms Marg Gardener who prepared them so well.

Santa has arrived at PPPS, at least his beard has! Thanks to Mr Peel for helping Santa greet the kids, staff and families each morning.

Congratulations to a number of our year 6 students who have been awarded a scholarship or entry into accelerated programs at their secondary college.

Congratulations to Chelsea 6-2 who has been awarded a scholarship at Epping Secondary College.

Congratulations also to Angus 6-7, who will join the Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) program at Mill Park Secondary College next year.

Also to Zachary 6-7 who will also attend Mill Park Secondary College in their Accelerated English Program; well done Zachary.

Congratulations to Tom 6-7 who will is going to Mernda Secondary College in their select entry Football program.

We also congratulate Boyan P who has been awarded a scholarship for General Excellence at Marymede College.

We wish these and all our year 6 students all the best. We know that if they continue to live by the values they have learnt here at PPPS, they will grow into global citizens and life long learners, who contribute to the future in a positive and creative way.

Hot off the press

The plumber, Mr. Bond has just finished installing the new drinking fountain on the sports ground.

Thank you to the JSC and Mr Challis for organising the two fundraising days. Thank you also to school council for paying for the plumbing costs.

This will be a great addition, not only on hot days, but every day as our students play soccer, Aussie Rules, kick to kick and any other ball game they can think of to enjoy themselves at recess and lunchtime. It will also be very handy for physical education lessons and sports training sessions. Now everyone, including staff, can stay hydrated at all times.

This Friday, everyone will receive their report for 2019, a piece of very important information at this time of year, every year. This will be closely followed next Tuesday by the most pressing bit of information at this time of year, every year; teachers and classes for 2020.

So much to look forward to, apart from Christmas and holidays. This time of year however, also brings the time when we say goodbye to some students and families.

We are saying farewell to a number of families who have been with us for many years. Some are families whose youngest child is now ready for year 7, some are families who are moving, in some cases, far, far, away. We wish you all the best and thank you for being part of the PPPS community for so many years.

We know there will be some trepidation but also lots of excitement.

Reminder that students need to wear their sunsmart hat every day and that it needs to be in good condition. A sunsmart hat is a requirement for Fun Day also. Thank you.

Reminder that full school uniform is required every day, right up to and including the final day of school on Friday December 20.

It was a nice chance to have a relaxing chat with some of our many helpers at our recent Volunteers Thank you Morning Tea. All volunteers deserve special recognition and thanks, individuals and families, alike who have supported us again so willingly and tirelessly this year. Your help makes it possible for us to continue to offer our engaging and challenging educational and extra curricula programs.

Thank you most sincerely, whether you volunteered to help out in one of the myriad of ways with classroom programs or you worked on school events such as the Family Fun Night; we appreciate it. Thank you also to the school councillors who continue to make a formal commitment to our school and volunteer their time across the year.

2020 news

Family Fun Night is Thursday March 12. Watch this space for more details in our first newsletter next year.

Open invitation to our next Coffee and Chat which is planned for Wednesday Feb 12 at 9:15 am in the staff lounge.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas if that is your belief, or a very Happy Holiday.

Return safe and sound as we look forward to seeing you all on Thursday January 30 for our Introducing My Child meetings and then on Friday January 31 for all year 1 to year 6 students for the start of another exciting and  engaging year of learning.
