YEAR 10 FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL EXCURSION

Profiting from the plethora of French films on offer during this year's French Film Festival, the two Year 10 classes took the train in to Kino Cinemas on Thursday 14 March. This year, we went to see "In Your Hands/Au bout des doigts". The students were very well behaved, both getting to and from the cinema and while watching the film. There were many options for snacks and lunch before and after the film. We made it back to school in time for the afternoon classes.

Set in Paris, it was the story of a troubled teenager who lived in the outskirts of Paris. He was a talented piano player but his family didn't have much money so his education had been limited. After being caught breaking in to a house, he was sentenced to six months community service, which he spent cleaning at the Conservatory in Paris. There, he was able to study music but there were still many obstacles in his path towards success.

The students enjoyed the film, some even crying at poignant moments. We encourage all students and parents to check out some French films during the festival.
