Principal's Report

College Expectations

As a school, we have a set of basic expectations that we require all students to adhere to. These expectations are established to help students get the best from their time at school and to feel safe in the school environment. They are simple expectations that we would anticipate all parents to support. Clearly, there are more detailed rules and consequences with many of these set out in the College Student Planner (beginning page 3).

Doncaster Secondary College is well respected for the way it looks after its students, for the expectations it sets and implements and for the outcomes achieved by its students. This is reflected in the comments that we receive from parents and other community members. As a school, we will continue to build on this to ensure that your children have access to the best education and support that we can provide.

As parents, you play an important role in helping this through:

  • supporting our College and the expectations we set;
  • helping establish appropriate work habits at home;
  • showing your son/daughter an interest in what is happening at school, regardless of their year level; and
  • contacting us when you have any concerns about your child’s progress, or have information that we should know in order to better support your child in their learning.

You have an important part to play in ensuring that your children get the most out of their time at school.  We need to work together to ensure the best for our children. This is a focus for us at Doncaster Secondary College and we believe that this is a strength that supports and improves the outcomes achieved by our students.

I am so delighted by the positive start to the school year and look forward to another safe, enjoyable, stimulating and successful learning experience for all in 2020.
