Sydenham Campus Principal Message

Welcome back for the last term of 2017 with a quick recap of what was achieved during a very busy Term 3, as well as a look ahead to what our students will face for the remainder of the year.

Year 10 Tasmania Camp

Three staff (Ms Marama Keti, Ms Sarah Gunn and Mr Andrew Atherton) together with twenty-nine Year 10 students from the Sydenham Campus joined Kings Park Campus teachers and students for our annual Year 10 Camp to Tasmania. The weather was kind, the students well-behaved and a great time was had by all as a result.

Subject Selections

Towards the end of last term, students in Years 9 and 10 had the opportunity to choose their subjects for 2018. Year 9 students are beginning that period of their schooling where they choose their studies, and Year 10 students are choosing the pathway that they will pursue at the Delahey campus. Year 8 students also had the opportunity to choose part of their program for 2018, choosing from a host of Art and Technology electives.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

Once again a large number of our students participated in the Premier’s Reading Challenge, celebrated on campus with a Pizza Party and prizes. This is an amazing program that develops student’s love of reading. Congratulations to all students involved and thank you Mr Paul Hiddle and Ms Sally Jeffery for their part in the organisation of this event.

Robotics Club

The Sydenham Campus Robotics Club continues to grow and develop skill – it is particularly rewarding to see Year 7s start to show their skills. The team was awarded with the Robot Skills and Design Awards at their most recent competition.

Exams

A busy exam period lies ahead for our Years 9 and 10 students, the latter of which will get their first introduction to the Delahey Senior Campus through this process.

It is important that students have begun the process of revising their work in preparation for exams. Remember that your teachers are the best resource you have in meeting this challenge.

While we’ve managed to pack a lot in to a fairly short period of time, the remainder of Term 4 promises to be even busier!

As always, if you have any queries, please feel free to contact us.
