Year 11 VCAL Project: Sports day with Mackellar Primary School

Grade 5 Mackellar Primary School students came to our gym at 1:45pm on 14th August for a secondary school familiarization session. We played different sporting games with the students in the gym. We taught them how to play futsal and bench ball as well as some team building games. The kids liked it and we had a great time as well. At the end it was a long day but it was a good one. We hoped the kids liked it and learnt something from it.

Library News

Games week in the Library from 30 October to 3 November celebrates strategy and role playing games and the underlying structures that create a good game. They are often based on detailed stories similar to books. Its not all about video games, as Delahey library hosts a game playing lunch on 1 November.

We will try Zombie Dice, Exploding Kittens, Code Names, Carcassone, Lattice and Hannabi to let you know a few alternative titles.

Why not take a trip to your local games store to find something different for a fun family evening?

Awards Night 2017

The class of 2017 celebrated their completion of Secondary Education at the annual Awards Night, which was held at the Australian Events Centre at Essendon Fields on Thursday 26nd October.  It was a fantastic evening where staff, students, parents and friends reflected on the year that was and celebrated the year’s achievements. Students were presented with certificates of completion and a number of Academic and Leadership Awards were also presented.

The Class of 2017 was represented by Valedictorians, Ryan Everest and George Hanna who spoke on behalf of the Class of 2017 and shared their experiences and memories of their journey at Copperfield. Both Ryan and George discussed their growth, success and sense of connection that they had experienced during their time at Copperfield and shared their hopes for the future for themselves and their classmates.

The Class of 2017 has made us proud and all students who have completed their studies in VCE, VCAL and VET should be congratulated for their effort. 2017 has been a very busy and productive year and all those who have completed their studies should feel proud of their achievements. We wish all of our graduating students the very best in all of their future endeavours.

Celebration Day 2017

Year 12 students put their studies on temporary hold and enthusiastically dressed up and enjoyed a fantastic Celebration Day. The theme for this year’s event was a beach party. There were some great costumes and staff were also invited to dress up and joy in on the celebrations. Team Leaders came dressed as lifeguards and there was a great staff dance to ‘Summer Nights’ which had everyone moving and saw fantastic performances by Ms Aleardi and Mr Deo! A big thank you to all team leaders who assisted and coordinated the day and also to Som for his technological prowess and fantastic slideshows, Ms Sarah Maric for providing tasty treats and refreshments and to all staff who participated and made the day such a success.
