Outdoor Ed

We’ve had a busy end to the term with our Y9 and VCE Outdoor Ed students attending excursions.

Our Y9 class attended their second excursion for the term, braving the heights of Melbourne’s Hard Rock Indoor Climbing Gym! Everybody tested themselves against the imposing task of the 30m wall climb. All students were pushed beyond their physical limits, and achieved something that many of them would have thought impossible.

The class travelled to and from the CBD by train, and also had some time to explore Bourke Street and Melbourne Central. They represented the school really well, and are all now pumped for next terms Werribee Gorge Hike, and our Surf Camp to Anglesea!

Our VCE students were able to apply their class work to another amazing practical experience, by visiting the Victorian Sailing School in Geelong.

Unfortunately, our first day had to be cancelled due to gale force winds making any water activities in Port Phillip Bay impossible, but our students all had a great experience learning to sail a fleet of Dolphin sail boats.

Students were able to gain more hands on experience, which will serve them well when they are back in the classroom after the school holidays, and getting their teeth into our final area of study within VCE Unit Two.

Our final excursions for the year, Hiking and Camping in the Otway National Park, and another trip down the famous Surf Coast await, so keep your eyes peeled for more Outdoor Ed updates
