Welcome

Week 1 Term 2, 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy Easter to everyone and welcome back. Over the Easter period, I was fortunate enough to have been asked by Father Cartwright to celebrate the Easter Ceremony Mass on Sunday via Facebook Live.  (Some of you may have followed it on Facebook)

I thank Father Cartwright for doing this for our St Fidelis Community but more importantly, I would like to quote Father Cartwrights message to our community. He said, “It is not good that we are like this, we are made for communion, we are made to be with each other.  Isolation is so hard, God said that man is not be meant to be alone we are made to be with each other.  We need to pray during these uncertain times, look after each other and stay connected.” To listen to Father’s full message from mass go to the St Fidelis Parish Facebook Page.

As a community of educators at St Fidelis we will listen to this message and make every effort to connect to one another in various ways that our modern society allows us to, such as: Google Hangout meetings, emails, phone calls, Zoom meetings etc. to ensure that nobody is alone and that everyone stays connected. So, over the coming weeks please engage with the online site provided by the school and assist your child with their learning the best that you can, seek assistance from friends, teachers, allow your child to call a friend from their classroom or to FaceTime them (with your supervision) but most of all make it fun!

COVID-19 UPDATE:

On the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, the CECV (Catholic Education Commission of Victoria) advise that all Catholic Schools are required to transition to remote and flexible learning arrangements in Term 2.  This means in order to slow the spread of coronavirus this means that all children who can learn at home MUST learn from home.

REMOTE HOME LEARNING

Over the holidays the staff have been finalising the St Fidelis Remote Learning Plan. Thank you to the staff at St Fidelis who have worked together under extreme circumstances in very uncertain times. They have pulled together to support each other and to prepare remote learning for all students. They have been amazing. Here is the Google Link for you and your children to access the learning.  Please use Google Chrome as your web browser
