Song & Dance

Extravaganza

On Friday 9th December and Saturday 10th of December the College Hall was filled with the sound of thunderous applause for the students and staff of Kildare Takes 2. The crowd were treated to 12 outstanding performances that spanned music across a variety of styles. This song and dance extravaganza was the culmination of several months work for all involved and the massive crowds were thoroughly entertained on both nights.

The Friday Night show was a family friendly event, with the winner determined through popular vote by the crowd. In second place was the Jackson 5: Mr Chaston, Mr Thompson, Sam Butt, Charles Patterson and Joe Wallace. The overall winner with a landslide victory was Morto’s Mash up: Mr Morton, Mr Price, Mr Gaffney, Mr Wendt, Tom Anderson and Sam Heffernan.

The over 18’s show winner on Saturday night was again determined by popular vote, with the crowd donating money to the act they liked the most. In second place with their beautiful rendition of My Immortal was Ms Jackson and Ruby Gooden. The crowd couldn’t go past Fergalicious as the winner, with Ms McDermott and Bridget Robertson taking home the main prize.

The significant profits raised from the show will be used to purchase new equipment for the Music and Instrumental department, including a set of PA and foldback speakers.

Congratulations to all the staff and students involved in the performance, and special thanks to Mr Mack, Mrs Lough, Ms Sutton, Mrs Potts and Mrs Hardy for all their work behind the scenes.
