Holt District Tennis Competition Friday 14th February

On Friday 14th February four students from St James across year 5 and 6 represented St James at the Holt District Tennis Championships. Students must be able to score, umpire and play the game without any assistance from adults. They play a round robin of fast 4’s(first to four games wins). Well done to Eamonn MK, Lachie W, Millie W and Natalie D who represented St James on this day. A special mention to Lachie W and Millie W who were the top competitors for the Holt District on this day and will now progress through to the Beachside division.

St James Swimming Team 2020

Wishing all of our swimmers good luck for the Holt District Competition this Friday at Oakleigh Recreation Centre. All students in the team will need to be at school by 8.30am in their full sport uniform with bathers on.  The weather is looking a little temperamental so please be sure to pack plenty of warm clothes. Don’t forget to also bring your goggles, towel, lunch, snacks, drink bottle and sunscreen. A St James cap will be provided for the day.

Thank-you to those parents who have volunteered to timekeep your help is always greatly appreciated. The carpark is closed this year due to renovations so be prepared to park on the street and walk or perhaps carpool if you can. I will have some spots on the bus if anyone would like to join us.

T20 Cricket is back!

This year cricket has been moved forward to Term 1 to try and assist in making it easier for schools to compete. The year 5 and 6 cohort will be invited to play and students will be placed into teams based on the number of students wishing to attend. If there are any cricket fanatics out there your help on the day will be appreciated. We will be competing against other Holt District schools on Friday 20th March.

As mentioned in my previous newsletter Soccer Trials for students in years 5 and 6 will also be held before the end of term.
