Father's day Edition
It is always a time of mixed emotions as we near the end of the year and we have to say goodbye to staff. It's sad to see them leave but also exciting as new chapters begin.
At the end of this year we bid farewell to Mrs Anne Di Stefano, Miss Naomi Cheney, Miss Haylea Anderson and Mr Zac Lane.
Anne has been a most valuable and loved Learning Support Officer for the past twelve years assisting children with diverse learning needs and will be sadly missed by teachers and students alike. She moves to the eastern suburbs to manage a home renovation.
Naomi joined us just before the second lock-down as a Learning Support Officer providing assistance to the children attending our onsite learning program. This term Naomi has assisted our middle to senior children and we thank her for her contribution.
Haylea has been a teacher with us for the past four years and more recently moved into the role of our Student Wellbeing Leader. Her ability to make children feel like superstars will be lost to us as too will be her endearing laugh and smile. She heads off to the coast for a sea-change and will take up a teaching position a little closer to home at Stella Maris.
Zac began with us as a graduate teacher six years ago and has been our e-Learning leader for the past 2 years. He has been a godsend to staff, students and parents by guiding them through the world of online learning. Zac will embark on the next stage of his career at St John the Apostle Tarneit.
We will miss them all dearly and we wish them well as they move into new stages of their lives.
With the departure of Hayley and Zac new leadership opportunities arise so we congratulate Miss Lauren Borg on her appointment to the position of Student Wellbeing Leader and Mr Wil Marks to the position of e-Learning Leader. We also congratulate Miss Stefanie Poropat and Miss Chrissie Marakis on their appointments as Beginning Teacher Mentors.
We also welcome Miss Anastasia Dullard, Miss Brianna Reaney and Ms Katrina Scolaro as teaching staff to our school. They will be visiting over the next few weeks to plan with teams and meet children as part of our induction process.
So even with the uncertainty of the COVID world we live in, we have managed to arrive at a structure that will allow us to provide the high standard of Catholic Education that we have become renowned for. Hence our 2021 school year will commence as follows:

Please note that in communicating this information it is not an invitation for families to put in 'requests' for class placement next year.
With the end of the year fast approaching teaching teams will be given time to plan extensively for 2021. To facilitate this we have needed to make some timetable changes. Please see below for details-
As a continuation of our Year Prep 2021 Transition process, our Year Prep teachers will be popping out to visit as many of our partner kindergartens as possible to observe and interact with our next year's Prep children in their 'natural habitat'.
It will be a valuable time to develop relationships and get to know a little bit more about each and every child coming to Corpus Christi School.
As metropolitan Melbourne eases restrictions we are now able to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation, albeit in a COVID safe way.
Next Wednesday evening, Corpus Christi Parish is inviting our Year 6 students who are able to be confirmed to receive the Sacrament under the directive as set out by the Archdiocese of Melbourne. Fr John O'Connor will be the celebrant and has been granted permission from the Most Rev Peter Comensoli, Archbishop of Melbourne to administer the Sacrament.
It will be a small yet reverent celebration and we ask that you keep our children and their families in your prayers.
As communicated last week, there are many directives by which schools must abide even as restrictions ease slightly. Please rest assured that as information becomes available all levels will be exploring ways in which we can celebrate the year that has been.
Just a quick reminder that although there has been an easing of COVID-related restrictions, masks still need to be worn at times when we can't social distance. Please be aware of this when you are picking up or dropping off your children. Let's not become complacent with only a few weeks to go!
Have a wonderful week
Stay safe and God Bless
