Senior School Learning

First Week Back for Year 5/6

To celebrate being back at school, students in Grade 5/6 participated in some enjoyable social games with their peers! The 'Minute to Win it' style games were a fantastic way to reconnect with friends and teachers, while having a laugh! Games included bouncing a ping pong ball into a cup, balancing dice on a moving ruler and knocking over cups with an interesting 'headpiece'! How wonderful it was to hear laughter filling our classrooms again.

Senior Personal Learning:

Senior students this week had the opportunity to refresh their understanding of the Zones of Regulation. We discussed the changes to our home and school routine and the impact these have on our emotions. Students created an 'Emotional Rollercoaster' which tracks their usual daily activities and which Zone of Regulation it places them in. After identifying these triggers, students were then able to create some strategies for dealing with the events in a positive way. We will be implementing these strategies this week!
