Student Profile - VET Acting

All students

VET is a hands on subject focused on practical skills that can sit in a VCE or VCAL program.  We would like to celebrate the success of one of our Year 12 students, Beth McDonald, who recently completed Certificate III in Acting at ACDA.

"The course is really great for anyone wanting to improve their confidence, in general or specifically in regards to acting. The industry knowledge is priceless, and in my opinion easily the best part of the course. If someone is seeking any kind of position in film in the future, it’s really valuable to understand what it’s like to be in front of the camera, and the industry knowledge extends to all aspects of the film industry - including but not limited to directing, casting and filming".

"My main advice for someone looking to do the VET Acting course is to try and make friends on orientation and the first day. Whilst the class gets very close by the end of the two years, having just one or two people that you really like and connect with can make the whole thing that much more enjoyable and less stressful. Filming so frequently can be a lot sometimes, so it’s good to know there’s someone you can trust to give you honest feedback, or cheer you up if you aren’t as happy with yourself".

"The course is exceptionally fun and the skills you build there are extremely helpful for any role in the Australian film and television industry (plus, you may get to be an extra on Neighbours!)"
