From the Art Room

HELP REQUIRED!

Beginning in the first week of March, the Art Room and Grade 5/6 students are in desperate need of your help! We are learning some age old techniques to create symbols of remembrance in preparation for ANZAC Day.

We need the guidance (and patience!) of crafty people from our community who know how to knit, crochet or felt (basic skills will do). Grandparents and other skilled family members are more than welcome!

You will need to be prepared to volunteer some of your time to assist a small group of students in learning one of these skills.

The Art Room runs 3 classes with the Grade 5/6's a week and classes are 90 minutes in duration.

Class times are:

Wednesdays 11.20-12.50 and

Fridays 9.25-10.55 and 2.00-3.30

The more the merrier - we are not fussy about having more than one person per group  - in fact more would be ideal!

The remembrance project will run from March 4 to April 22 (note there will be a two week break from 28 March to the 12 April).

Please  call Murrumbeena Primary School on 9568 1300 if you are interested in volunteering , or alternatively drop past the art room after school. Mrs Bec Wildman is there Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and Mrs Mel Short is there Wednesdays and Thursdays.

While we would love to see your face, if you happen to have spare knitting needles, crochet hooks, tapestry needles, felting needles (bigger needles preferable) and felting wool or yarn in red or black, please donate them to the art room.

Thanks,

Bec Wildman and Mel Short
