5 SCHOOL WEEKS TO GO!

There are many hands and brains working on this fantastic community event, whilst juggling work, family, children, life, etc.  Don’t underestimate the amount of work our tireless VOLUNTEERS have put into this event. But we need more parent help NOW!!!!!  Please don’t wait until the week before the carnival to offer your assistance.  We will take whatever your offer, but it needs to be now.

IN YOUR CHILD'S BAG

Raffle

Your eldest child will receive the MPS Carnival Raffle tickets this week.  Please look out for these tickets as all sold and unsold tickets and money must be returned to the office by the 6 March 2015,.  This is a legal requirement.

Postcards

3 carnival postcards, that can be personalised, have been given to all children today. Please ensure that these are sent to friends and family ASAP.  If you require additional postcards please see the office. 

 

A neighbourhood letter drop of postcards will commence on Monday 16 Feb.  

Why not sign up for a distribution area?  Sign up earlier to ensure you get the area that you want.  Take a photo of your letter drop with the kids, dog, friend, partner, mum etc. and post the photos on our Facebook page or send pics to sonya_hough@hotmail.com

Posters

A5 carnival posters are now available from the office. Please place at your work, kindy, swimming club, ballet, church, café, gym, doctors, dentist etc.  Take a photo of where you have placed it, tag them and tag MPS Carnival Facebook page.  Lets see who can get a poster at the most unusual place!

Come on, we can’t have a Carnival without Fairy Floss and Popcorn!!!!! Our Hair and Nail co-ordinators have volunteered to swap to Chocolate Fountain if anyone is keen to run their Hair and Nail salon.  Both the Chocolate Fountain and Hair and Nail were top $ earners last Carnival.  If we don’t have co-ordinators for these stalls soon, they will be cut.

The due date for this template was Friday 6  Feb.  We are competing with 3 other catering

events, including the Grand Prix, on March 14, so if we do not submit the MPS order to suppliers ASAP we will miss out.                                                                      If you haven’t sent in your template, please contact mpscarnivalstalls@gmail.com

Rosters 

Stall Roster are required by the Friday 13 Feb.  If you haven’t put your name down for a shift, what are you waiting for?  A list of stalls and the contact person is listed below.  Please contact them directly or email mpscarnivalstalls@gmail.com and they will put you in contact.

Did you know that it is cheaper to buy your Rides Pass before the Carnival?

Senior Rides passes are $37 NOW and $42 on the day.

DONATIONS

Children’s Toys and Pre-loved Fashion

  • Babies and children’s clothes (up to age 12 years) and
  • Toys in good condition & working order

Clothes should be washed and toys cleaned, ready for sale.

Clothes and toys must be packaged separately.

Donations are to be left in specifically marked areas in the hallway leading off from the main office foyer

We cannot accept the following:

-Toys cannot be broken, in disrepair or in poor condition.

-Clothes that are stained, torn or in poor condition. 

-Any toys or equipment that need to be plugged in/require electricity – for safety reasons we cannot accept these toys.

-Puzzles with pieces missing

TRASH & TREASURE

Our Trash and Treasure will be sold through 2 avenues:

·         On eBay prior to the carnival

 

·         At the carnival stall

 

Smaller donations can be left in specifically marked areas in the hallway leading off from the main office foyer.

SECOND HAND BOOKS

Please start cleaning out your bookshelves and donating your much loved second hand books to the school carnival.

Please place them in bags or boxes in the corridor near the staff toilets.

We will also be accepting CD’s and DVD’s.

LOLLIES

Next time you are at the store, pick up an extra packet of lollies for our Lolly Stall.

Please leave all lollies in the marked box near the office.

WE ALSO NEED

·        Outdoor stackable chairs

·         Market umbrellas

·         Portable air conditioner or Large Fan (for the Haunted House)

·         Black builders plastic or lots of black fabric (for the Haunted House)

FASHION PARADE

Fashion Parade auditions will be held on Wednesday February 11 at 1.15pm in the School hall.  Please ensure your permission form is returned, if your child would like to participate.  

No form – no audition.

FLAG COMPETITION

If Murrumbeena Primary School were a country, what would our flag look like? Using the template provided, design a flag and you'll be in the running to win ONE of SEVEN (yes that is one per grade level) Unlimited Ride Armbands for the MPS Carnival on the 14 March 2015!.

Entries will be displayed at the Carnival.
