News from the Library

This week the Library farewelled two of its staff Mrs Janet Burgoyne and Ms Rosalie Corbett. Mrs Burgoyne had been with the Library since 2000 while Ms Corbett had been with us since 2017. Ms Corbett’s creation of the Library space in the TLC has enabled us to smoothly adapt to our temporary location until the renovations in the Sheehan wing are finalised. They will both be missed by all of us who work at BHS and use the Library spaces.

We have continued to operate our clubs virtually during our brief lockdowns, providing an opportunity for folks to talk, laugh and discuss books and movies. If you want to join us please email libstaff@ballaraths.net for more details. 

We are very excited to be hosting a COVID safe Write a Book in a Day event on August 20, 2021. Hosted by the marvelous Ms French, and ably assisted by Therese and Jac, this event brings together creative students to illustrate and write a book in a day. If you’d like to participate in the 2022 event please contact either Ms French or Jac in the Library. 

Our Dungeon Masters boot camp will take place shortly. Thanks to the students who have expressed interest in stepping up into a leadership role. Mr Marr and Jac will be in touch shortly with the details. 

A reminder that if you have Library books overdue, could you please return them as soon as you can. We have a long list of students patiently waiting on your books, who would also enjoy the opportunity to read them.
