Level 1

We have continued to be busy bees in Level 1 in the last two weeks! Actually, we have moved on from bees, and have been learning about and researching ants and butterflies for our minibeasts Inquiry topic.

This has also carried over into Writing, and students have been learning how to plan and structure information reports about ants and butterflies. This week we started editing our information reports, with wonderful results.

Some examples of writing and editing:

In Maths, we have been revisiting probability and chance. We have also been practising sharing or dividing, with some exciting maths challenges.

It has been fun for students to video their Show and Tell presentations and upload them to their class blogs. They have reported on a minibeast and on their favourite books.

We enjoyed Book Week activities, including a number of wonderful books read by Rangeview’s senior classes – thank you! Our class meetings in Book Week included book trivia and games, and on Friday, students could dress up and/or discuss their favourite book character.

Level 1 classes have also been ‘visited’ by flat versions of their teachers, who were able to be printed out to join the students for some fun and adventures.
