Foundation

The Foundation children have continued building their resilience during Remote and Flexible Learning. Each day they are tackling new activities, learning new things and logging on to technology to do their learning and we couldn’t be prouder of them!

In Literacy we read ‘Dear Zoo’ and ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and wrote letters to family members, animals/pets, friends or teachers. We have also learned about plurals by adding ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the end of words. There were some really creative ideas!

During Maths, we have continued to learn about 2D and 3D shapes. Students got to explore their houses to find 3D shapes and absolutely loved the challenge of making 3D shapes with playdough, sticks or straws. We have also focused on subtraction and sharing and loved doing the subtraction story activity!

An important part of learning is definitely through play. Foundation children have been creative and imaginative with blocks and Lego to build whatever they would like!

Learning how to be a responsible digital citizen has been a weekly highlight. We have learned about why we have rules and what is safe and unsafe to post online. It has also been wonderful to see what we are grateful for and what we appreciate in a time like this.

We have loved sharing our favourite books on WebEx for Show and Tell this week!
