COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS MESSAGE - NEW ACTIVITY!!

As we say goodbye to Term 3 and welcome the last term of 2021 next month, we have considered ways in which we might create some positivity and cheer to both our school and local community groups.

With the continued support of our teachers and local business, we are running a competition asking all our creative and talented students to design a St James Christmas Message, to be shared with our community groups across the months of November and December (until Christmas). Our theme this year will aptly centre around “Peace on Earth” and will include St James brand identity and contact details.

We have access to display this message across two advertisement boards, with printing and placement to be provided by Chisholm and Gamon (local Real Estate Agents), and are seeking permit approval from Bayside Council now to erect these signs in two prominent and visual locations locally.  These signs and good will message will also support our end of year drive for enrolments in 2022.  We thank Torsten Kasper, Managing Director at Chisholm and Gamon for his support of this exciting school initiative.

Please see here for further information and to view our competition Flyer for entry requirements:

Entries close 5:00 PM Friday 8 October (end Week 1, Term 4).  All students may only enter the competition once. If we are back at school the children will give their entries to their teacher. If we are not, we will let the community know how to get your entries in!

PARENT NIGHT OUT - Cancelled for 2021

Please be advised that the process to refund all bookings some parents made towards our (cancelled) 2021 Parent Night Out event has begun, with Refunds being issued to all who purchased tickets.

Unlike previously advised, we will NOT be proceeding with a live auction in October due to continued lockdown and uncertainties with reopening hospitality venues.

We will find another opportunity to showcase any artwork that may have been created previously by students as part of our auction activity, and we thank all who have been involved in the event to date, for their continued effort and support here. Let’s hope for a successful event in 2022!

COLOUR RUN - Postponed to November 26

Our Colour Run has been rescheduled to Friday November 26, due to the ongoing lockdown and restrictions. This will give us the best possible chance to both fundraise and ensure that we can have a wonderful, joyous experience for our children.

The fundraising profiles will remain open online, however we will press pause until promoting fundraising and updating the community until we start term 4. Thank you to those who have fund-raised already, so far out of 180 children, we have had 61 children create a profile with 30 children raising more than $1. We look forward to hopefully being able to finish the year with this awesome day!

We have had some questions relating to the focus for our fundraising for this event. Our fundraising efforts will focus on raising money for:

  • New playground equipment (design TBC)
  • The long term goal of upgrading our basketball / netball courts with custom designed sports turf (similar to the ones at Star of the Sea)

PICTURE PRODUCTS

The Picture products fundraiser has now been closed.

Please note these important dates:

1. Orders due / payments must be made by 10th September - CLOSED.

2. Post drawings back by 20th September - OPEN

3. Products delivered by 6th December - OPEN

Please note that due to being in lockdown, the paper used to draw the designs will need to be downloaded. Parents will need to download the template relating to their order from https://drawing.pictureproducts.com/ . If you’d like your child to include any photographs on their artworks, be sure to include them in the scan.

Again, we send our love and strength to all our St James families right now. We truly hope we can come together as a community soon and by the end of this year.

Stay well, and look after yourselves.
