Prep 13 and 4-30

In Prep 13 this week we made our own bubbles! We used dish washing liquid and water to make them, then used bubbles wands to blow as many bubbles as we could. We blew some bubbles at looked like snowmen and even some bubbles looked like ice creams! We had lots of fun blowing and making our own bubbles. When we got back into our classroom, we did our thinking about our bubbles and tried our best to write down what the bubbles made us think about. We can’t wait to try and make our own bubbles at home with our families.

INQUIRY IN 4-30!

This term’s Inquiry topic is called “First Contact”. We are learning about the lives of the first Australian's before European settlers arrived in Australia and the journey of the First Fleet.

So far this term we’ve practised thinking and acting like historians.  We researched Indigenous Australian groups. Did you know that Aborigines have been living in Australia for at least 60,000 years? - AJ.

We researched some important dates in Australian history. I created a cool timeline of the history of Australia – Deyan.

We learnt about Dreamtime stories. Tiddalik was a dream time story about drought – Andrej.

Researchers found that Aboriginal Australians are the world's oldest civilisation – how cool! Dot painting is a really old traditional art of theirs – Elissa.

Today we started learning about child convicts. We can’t wait to begin our independent inquiries and artefacts next week.
