Principal's Message

Lovely staff news. We are delighted to let you know that Ms Kristy Caruso and her husband Claude, are expecting their first child in July. We wish them all the best as they start a new and exciting part of their life as a family.

Our science specialists, Clint Lowes and Simon La Rocca, and I attended the first of our 2020 professional learning days on Monday. Once more, the sessions were worthwhile, causing us to reflect on how we are implementing science here at PPPS, and to adjust, where necessary, the plan for this year.

Congratulations to the thirteen year 4, 5 and 6 students who attended the BDSSA swimming carnival. Further congratulations and good luck wishes to the seven who will be attending the Divisional event on Tuesday 3rd March.

  • Jacob for two individual events and a relay
  • Mia for one individual event and a relay
  • Jacob, Milo, Supriya and Charlee for the open 12/13yr relay
  • Jada, Sara, Mia and Supriya for the 9 – 13yr Medley Relay

If your child is interested, year 3, 4 and 5 students will be able to try out at the end of this year for next year – that would be terrific!

Exciting experience for one of our students, Sienna. Sienna (3-26) was fortunate to perform the coin toss on Rod Laver Arena for Roger Federer's opening match against Steve Johnson during this year’s Australian Open. She was very excited to be introduced into the arena and received a warm welcome from the crowd.  Sienna was very proud to have appeared on television and was grateful to be able to keep the coin as a memento.

Each year we hear great news about the achievements of our past students.  This time we congratulate Zara Locklier, one of the original PPPS hurdlers who has qualified to compete for Australia at a number of athletics competitions in Canada. She did this without having any of the proper equipment (spikes, blocks etc...) and has amazing potential. Zara’s mother has started a Go Fund Me page for Zara as the whole trip will cost $9000. If you knew Zara and would like to contribute or you just want to have a look at the page, the link is below.

Local news

The project team of the Plenty Road Upgrade asked me to thank you for your patience while they worked around the clock to build the new median and install new traffic lights at the McDonalds and Gorge roads intersection.

They understand that these works were disruptive, and they appreciate your ongoing support.

Stage 2 of the Plenty Road Upgrade involves widening lanes and upgrading 12 intersections between Bush Boulevard and Bridge Inn Road. The project is due for completion in mid-2021.

From late February they’ll start building the new lanes on Plenty Road from McDonalds Road to Highview Drive and from Campania Lane to Bridge Inn Road.

To do this they’ll need to close some lanes and restrict access to some local roads.

We do understand that the traffic can be a real problem, however we all know that it will take ‘longer than it used’ to get to PPPS, so please take this into consideration to ensure your child is at school before the music starts each morning.
