We recently received "The Impossible Quest" Travelling Suitcase from the Children's Book Council of Australia. Inside the suitcase Year 4 found costumes and items relating to the five books. We are having fun reading the books and matching items from the suitcase with the quest.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE
Notification to print certificates has arrived. Certificates will be available in Week 8.
SCHOOL READING CHALLENGE
This Term I have issued a challenge to the primary students to read outside their usual genre/ comfort zone selection. The suggestion is go to a shelf you have not visited previously either in the fiction / non fiction or picture book area and thoughtfully look at the cover and the title and read the back blurb. It's like trying new food , unless you have a taste you will never know what is out there that you may just enjoy.
So if your child starts coming home with random and unusual titles, support them and chat to them about their choice. Wide reading widens our minds and our perspective.
YEAR 2
AN EXTRA SPECIAL LIBRARY VISIT
This week after Yr 2 had finished their borrowing and returning they were in for a treat. Yr 5 boys Lachie, Harry, Noah and Jack instructed the students on how to play the game "Let's Go Code" which was purchased with points from book club orders. The boys explained the game and the importance of coding in our world, taking turns and directionality. Thankyou boys for the time spent preparing for this.
